Preview: Atlantis!
/Today, DCUO held a livestream previewing Episode 33: Atlantis for the first time! Mepps, SJ & Ben, and later on Megzilla took us for a dive under the sea into the kingdom in Atlantis, showcasing the large brand new area of Atlantis where open-world missions will take place, and then announcing that our characters will be swimming in a number of areas of content and in this new open-world! Schools of fishes and whales also swim over the sunken city, and truly is a sight to see! With the caustic optic effects showing that water is truly everywhere in this Episode, it really stands apart from what we have been used to so far spectacularly.
Atlantis splashes onto Test Server tomorrow, October 25th & makes waves on Live Server November 8th, 2018!
Along with the new open-world area of Atlantis, to access the Episode itself first requires you to complete the solo mission “Atlantis: Royal Palace” where it sets up the story for us, similar to running the solo mission in Deluge & duo in Teen Titans: The Judas Contract. Then you gain access to “Atlantis: Silent School” 4-player alert, and “Atlantis: Crown of Thorns” & “Atlantis: The Throne” raids, one which features a gigantic Sea Beast boss. All Atlantis content requires CR 241+ for Members/Episode owners, and 10+ for the Event versions for all to play until the next Episode releases.
Among the new areas introduced in this Episode, a slew of new characters join in the watery fun too! Kaldur’ahm (Aqualad), King Shark, Murk, The Faceless One, High Elder Minerva, along with Ocean Master receiving a new helmet to go with his new style updated in Deluge, and Corum Rath wearing his garb as king of Atlantis. The new Event/Drop Style is based on Kaldur’ahm and the Vendor Style is based Corum Rath’s new kingly style! There would also be a head style based off The Faceless One, Drift Guard head & shoulder style, and the Crown of Thorns style, being a variant version of the Springtime Event of Forest Spirit Styles, although with a new caustic effect that occurs on it. Also with the new movement of swimming, there is a trail of bubbles that will stack with your movement mode styles as confirmed by Oceans.
Announced to launch shortly after will be 4 new Atlantis Artifacts which were briefly teased without any further information upon them currently. There was also a post-credits additional part of the livestream, where SJ, Oceans & Megzilla showcased the new content coming to live servers this week which can be seen in Double Cred Weekend & NEW Titans Rewards!
We just have a few more weeks to be ready for the tidal wave of content incoming!
